On Wednesday 8th May 2024, a group of Shropshire Blues Official Supporters Club members participated in the inaugural Alliance Cup at St. Andrews @Knighthead Park, representing the West region in a competition featuring other OSC branches, divided up into North, South, East and West teams.
In the first match the West team took on eventual winners, North, losing 5-3. Subsequently, in the third-place play-off we drew 1-1, with the match ending in a thrilling penalty shoot-out. Our goalkeeper Scotty Powell made some excellent saves to help us finish in third place.
Those who took part managed to fulfil a lifelong dream of playing on the hallowed turf of St. Andrews and had an experience they will never forget.
